SFRPD Proof of Residency Requirements

What Parents Need to Submit

To play, every family must show proof that they live in San Francisco. This is required by the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department

You have two ways to do this. One is much easier than the other.

Easiest Option
(highly recommended)

Submit ONE School Document

If you have a school document, stop here. You’re basically done.

The document must include all 4:

  • Child’s full name (same as the Player Commitment Form)

  • San Francisco home address

  • School name

  • Date

    • Must be for 2025–26 OR 2026–27 school year
       

Accepted school documents:

  • Notice of Enrollment

  • Report Card (you can cover grades)

  • School Bill (you can cover dollar amounts)

  • Letter of Enrollment

    • On official school letterhead

    • Signed by Head of School or Registrar

  • Screenshot from the school portal showing all 4 required items
     

Tip:

  • Keep it to 1–2 pages
     

If it’s longer, highlight the required info so we don’t miss it

If you DO NOT have a school document

Submit 3 Supporting Documents

This option is more work, but it’s allowed.

Acceptable document categories:

Pick 3 different categories from this list:

  • Valid CA or Federal ID with SF address

  • Official State or Federal records

    • No tax returns

    • No SSN or EIN shown

  • Financial statements

    • Bank, credit card, loan, investment, etc.

  • Property tax bill (from last October)

  • Insurance documents

  • Internet or cable bills

  • Local government records

  • Medical records

  • Military records

  • Utility bills

    • Up to 3 allowed

    • Must be from different vendors

    • Electric, gas, phone, mobile, water, waste, etc.

  • School records

  • State records

  • Child support or other support records

  • Voter registration

    • Must show a date within the past 90 days

  • Welfare or child care records

Rules you must follow:

  • All documents must be dated within the past 90 days

  • Name + address must match the parent/guardian on the Player Commitment Form

  • All 3 documents must show the same SF address

  • You can only use one document per category (except utilities)

We Cannot Accept:

  • Handwritten documents

  • Passports (no address = no bueno)

  • Photos of envelopes, mailing labels, or postmarks
