26 SF Elite Players Make High School All-League Teams

As an interested parent, fan or peer of a high school soccer player in San Francisco, you might want to take a close look at the Bay Counties League, West Catholic Athletic League and San Francisco City Section All-League teams.


San Francisco Elite SC's reach goes into the South Bay as well with a member of the club getting honors from the West Bay Athletic League, the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League and the Peninsula Athletic League's Ocean Division.


Now, take a closer look. What do you see? You see the major influence that San Francisco Elite SC is having on the high school game in San Francisco.


There were 29 players that play at San Francisco Elite SC were named to all-league teams. That is 29 players proudly wearing the SF Elite badge who are leading the way on the high school pitch as well.


WCAL


The most powerful league in Northern California features a good number of SF Elite players. On the girls side Alana Giomi, who plays at Sacred Heart Cathedral, was named to the All-WCAL first team while Alice Foerster, who also plays at SHC, was chosen to the second team. Giomi plays on the SF Elite 2007 GA team while Foerster plays on the 2008 GA team.


On the boys side, there were six chosen as All-WCAL. Nate Coughlin and Edvin Fahlgren made the prestigious first team, and Coughlin, who plays at Serra, was chosen as one of the Best XI players in the Bay Area. Fahlgren plays at St. Ignatius.


Andrew Cudden, who plays at St. Ignatius, Patrick Nolan, who plays at SHC and Braxton Nemes who plays at Archbishop Riordan, all made the second team, while Aiden Higgins, who plays at SI, was honorable mention. 


Coughlin, Fahlgren, Cudden and Nolan all play for the SF Elite SC 2005/2006 ECNL team while Nemes and Higgins play ECNL with the 2008 team.


BCL


An astounding nine girls made all-league in either the Bay Counties League Central or Bay Counties League West. Isabelle Bernal and Sylvia Erceg-Jacobsen, who played at International, earned honors. Bernal is on the 2006 GA team and Erceg-Jacobsen is on the 2008 team. Luccia Noel-Jungclaussen and Anna Lou Delepine represented Drew High School with Noel-Junglcaussen playing for the 06 GA team and Delepine playing on the 07 GA team at SF Elite.


A pair of teammates at Urban School earned all-BCL honors as Reese Bassuk, a 2006 GA player, and Rachael Rose, a 2008 GA player, were selected. Two from Lick-Wilmerding were also selected as they both play on the 2006 GA team and that is Ariel Fu-Chen and Ella Spero and University High's Cece Erhart, also a 2006 GA player, was also honored.


Two boys were honored by the BCL as Ben Duffin had a standout year at University High. Duffin is a 2005/2006 ECNL player and Alex Yang was a standout at Urban and he plays for the 2005/2006 Orange team.


SF CIF


In the San Francisco City Section, four girls and three boys were honored amongst the top players. Naomi Mendez, who is a 2007 GA player was selected as the section's top forward as she stood out for Lowell this year. 


Zoe Ivatt and Maya Riggs are also 2007 GA players who were honored. Riggs was the defensive MVP of the Division II schools as she plays at Academy, and Ivatt stood out with Mendez at Lowell. 2008 GA player was a DI honorable mention as a freshman at Lowell.


On the boys side, 2007 ECNL player Matteo Delmonte was a DI first-teamer for his efforts at Lowell and Dax Olinto and Irving Soto were both second-team selections from George Washington High. Olinto plays on the 2005/2006 Orange team and Soto plays on the 2007 Orange team.


South Bay


JJ Lehman from Woodside Priory, was named first-team All-WBAL while Carson Gamble of Los Altos High, earned first-team honors from the SCVAL and Yousef Anhasi earned first team honors for Hillsdale High in the PAL Ocean. All three of them play for the 2005/2006 ECNL team.
