Coach Creston has been at SF Elite since the Spring of 2022.
He currently serves as head coach of the 2009 Girls ECNL-RL and 2008 Girls Orange teams. His previous SF Elite coaching responsibilities have focused on boys and girls of high school age and included NorCal Premier, ECNL and GA teams within the club.
Creston is also the General Manager at SF Elite, a role which includes direct oversight and individual consulting for our college bound athletes. Finally, Creston is a proud parent at SF Elite, whose daughter has joined an NCAA DIII program on a run of three consecutive championship seasons.
Creston’s coaching experience spans 25 years, ranging from youth grassroots, international academies and adult leagues to club, high school and NCAA D1 teams.
Creston currently works with the University of San Francisco women’s team (NCAA D1). His previous experience includes coaching internationally for the Liverpool FC Academy and Nishimachi International School in Japan, local high school soccer for St. Ignatius High School and Urban High School, and club soccer with the SF Vikings.
Creston’s coaching credentials include a US Soccer C License, a global coaching accreditation from Liverpool FC, licenses from TOVO institute and the Soccer Mindset Academy as well as several diplomas from United Soccer Coaches including Level 1 Video Analyst and Club Leadership.
Creston’s coaching philosophy is centered around maintaining high standards, motivating players to meet and extend their potential, building confidence through effective feedback and creating a fun, competitive and supportive environment where individuals develop but the team mentality always comes first. He believes that every game watched by a coach or player offers a new opportunity to learn.
He further draws from the lessons he learned during a 30 year corporate career with disciplines including Talent Management, HR, Training, Recruiting, Data Analytics, Executive Leadership, Organizational Design and technical product consulting, product strategy and project management.
Creston’s soccer journey started with playing at the age of 5 and holding season tickets for the original San Jose Earthquakes NASL team. His love of the game continued as a player, coach, referee and fan throughout his whole life, having traveled for 9 FIFA World Cups, many European Matches and being a 5-year season ticket holder in Japan. His career aspirations in the game were partly inspired by his dad’s rise from a local AYSO referee to National Director of Referee Assessment for United States Soccer.
